Where is PAWLEYS ISLAND
Pawleys Island is a small coastal town in South Carolina known for it’s laid-back arrogantly shabby aesthetic and charm. Endless views of oak trees draped with spanish moss, ricefields, marsh, creeks, rivers and ocean abound at every turn.
Nestled in between the Waccamaw River to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the East, just north of Historic Georgetown and south of Murrells Inlet it also includes the barrier island of the same name where several homes in the Historic District date back to the 18th century.
Just over an hour north of Charleston, with miles of quiet beach, peaceful marshes, golf, tennis and a bit of South Carolina's famous Lowcountry charm combine to make this one of the East Coast's most extraordinary private communities.
+ Downtown Georgetown
Just north of Charleston, Historic Georgetown, South Carolina, is a beautiful quaint waterfront community easily accessible by land, sea or air. The Georgetown County airport is less than 5 miles away and if traveling by boat, the harbor is a great stopover along the ICW between Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Surrounded by live oak lined streets, Downtown Historic Georgetown is the 3rd oldest city in the state and is filled with history, charm and personality.
+ Litchfield Beach
Litchfield Beach is the next barrier island north of Pawleys Island and is accessible by causeway.
+ Murrells Inlet
Murrells Inlet, the "seafood capital of South Carolina" is a small fishing village located just north of Pawleys Island; the southernmost is within Georgetown County beginning at Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park while spreading north into Horry County just below Myrtle Beach.
