Post-op Recovery at home
Everyone has recommended a recliner for recovery. No judgement, but this style of furniture doesn’t really fit in with our aesthetic so it’s just meant to be a temporary addition. This is literally going to be the cancer chair.
I need this physical reminder of Matthew’s cancer to just appear and then disappear. I don’t have the time or mental energy to go shop around town chatting with salespeople on why I hate their product but I’m buying it anyway because I need one for my sick husband and I only want a floor model/sample sale piece that can be delivered quickly and I can’t trust an amazon delivery won’t get delayed or come missing an important screw. Plus, not trying to add building furniture to my growing number of to-do’s. My sister immediately donated hers to our cause. I know its her favorite piece so it was hard for her to offer! She inherited the big oversized plush leather recliner chair along with her house purchase last year and she’s been looking for a reason to remove the beast without breaking her boys hearts! Sorry Teddy, you can move to my house for the summer and recline away! One of my favorite people, Troi, also offered us the one she used after shoulder surgery last year. And so many friends and even some acquaintances reached out to make sure one of those two options gets to our house by tomorrow. These are such big little ways we are feeling so supported.
Note: If Matthew decides he loves a recliner and wants one forever and ever we can go buy a nice one. He can have whatever he likes.
Truly, everything we absolutely need for post-op recovery at home will be provided by the hospital. These are just some items I know will make it easier. If I write it down here I can find it easily to place an order!
